Stepford Wives JW's Wives?
by Pinned Blouse ini just got back from seeing the newest movie version of the stepford wives, i cannot help but see the resemblence of the lady that i studied with to get in the trufe.
she the very essence of a stepford wife and she told me what the bible told me i should do too.
she told me that i should get up before my husband in the morning to make him breakfast (he left at 4:30 a.m.) how i should wash my clothes, how often i should have sex with my husband, how not question his decisions, what i should wear, how i should discipline my kids, etc.

I soon realized that a lot of JW wives had a similiar look and ways about themselves, usuallly it was the older ones.
Anyone have a similiar experience or noticed the Stepford Wives symdrome at the halls you attended?

7th day psychos!!
by boy@crossroads intoday, saturday i figured i'd take a little run to the adventist church to see how similiar they are to the witnesses.
after talking with them i just had to run to the computer, asap.. after the service, people started walking out.
i felt like walking out too b/c there was a lot of old people and they were kind of cliqueish.

I was brought up as a SDA and let me tell you, it sucked. We could not watch Sat. morning cartoons because of the sabbath, we could not eat meat, wear jewelry, no caffiene, no stimulants of any kind, no fancy dress, no makeup, no physical labor on Saturdays, etc. We ate a lot of soy products. Come to think of it, that time was one ofthe healthiest periods of my life. My skin was blemish free and I looked rested. Hey I might even go ba...... Nah!!! I can't give up my cartoons.

yet, many also lived double lives.

I think I was what you called "devout" until I started to see the JW's were not perfect. The first time I realized that they were not pefect was when a JW stabbed me in the back, I was floored. I mean literally floored. I came to realize that they were not "perfect" people that I had set up in my mind. I was brought it the troof through a bible study that went on way too long. I studied because it made others happy. I got baptized because it made others happy. I went out in service because it made others happy. Never once did I do it out of my own compulsion.
Sad! I guess you can say I was a depressed witness. Even when good things happened to me I felt that I did not deserve it.

Where are you on the map? New Maps
by Lady Lee inok there are so many americans on the map now i had to split you all in half.. valis was kind enough to let me place the maps on his website until i found a new home for them.. photobucket seems to be a good option - at least for now.
